From Cairns you can access the Great Barrier Reef, The Daintree, The Skyrail to Kuranda.

An hour and a half drive south takes you to magnificent Mission Beach, with its pristine beaches and short cruises to Dunk and other islands.

White Water Rafting on the Tully River is a must for the more adventurous.

An hour's drive north takes you to Kuranda, where you can cuddle a Koala and a Kangaroo and visit the zoos and markets.

At nearby Mareeba, take a Hot Air Balloon ride and visit Skybury, Australia's largest coffee plantation.

Go west to the historic mining towns of Herberton and Chillagoe, with its fascinating limestone caves.
